A key part of understanding our emotions and experiences is developing mindfulness through meditation. This retreat focuses on the four close placements of mindfulness: the body, feelings, mind, and phenomena. There will be an introduction to the concepts and meditations, followed by going more deeply into the retreat with silence and meditation practice. Once silence starts, there will be one optional question and answer period a day when retreatants can ask about the practice and teachings.
This meditation retreat is open to anyone, but previous exposure to the Buddhist world view and some experience with meditation will be especially helpful for getting the most from the retreat.
The retreat begins on Saturday morning 30 Sept. and finishes on Sunday 8 Oct. after lunch. Arrivals are on Friday 29 Sept. to check in to accommodation, settle the mind and have a rest, so you may want to book extra meals with us depending on your arrival time (dinner is served from 6:00-7:00pm).
Led by FPMT in-depth registered teacher, Bhikshuni Lozang Yönten, who has been teaching internationally on this subject. See a sample video of the topic on YouTube where Ven. Yönten leads a discussion on the difference between feelings and emotion, or try a guided meditation on close placement on the body.
