“There are so many ways we can think about how to live life. One way is to think about navigating it, day by day, we are walking on this road and it is our life, whatever is on the road – we put it there. This is the meaning of karma.

“Usually things come along and we get shocked. The delicious things come and we think we are lucky, the bad things come and we think we are unlucky. But if we have this view of cause and effect – this amazing view – we see we are the creators of our own reality. Then whatever we meet we are more courageous, we own it, we put it there. We can be brave and deal with it. We might not like it, but it is our obstacle, we created it so we can go past it. This is a very courageous attitude. This is really what giving up attachment and anger means.

“Of course we have to learn it but it is possible and it gives us such courage. We need courage. We know stuff comes. We don’t know where it comes from, but it is our own. We are not very sure about that, but we have to be brave and own what comes, and then take it one day at a time, pave the way, one step at a time.

“That is the way to live our lives I think. And learn from it, every second. Isn’t it?”
